Westminster is best known for its trail system and open space. Since 1985, the city has bought more than 2,500 acres in all parts of Westminster. Residents enjoy over 50 miles of trails winding through the city’s beautiful and unique open space and 50 developed parks.

Golfers enjoy panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains at Westminster’s Legacy Ridge Golf Course, rated by Golf Magazine as one of Colorado’s top 10 public golf courses. There are several other public courses as well as the private course at The Ranch Country Club. Adventure Golf, also operated by the Hyland Hills Recreation District, offers 54 holes of fun on a challenging miniature golf course.

Standley Lake Regional Park is home to more than 2,300 acres of land and lake, as well as one of the state’s few pairs of nesting bald eagles. The park attracts boaters, windsurfers, fishermen, campers, hikers and other nature lovers.
