A Dog’s Tale (About the Pups)

When brainstorming a business imaging concept we went through many ideas, from skyscrapers to Kangaroos. However, I didn’t want anything to be un-natural or “hoakie” so I thought, what really will give prospective clients a good action shot of me? Dogs have always been a huge part of my life – hence the dog theme was born!

The superstar is “Tai”. He is a 6 year old (1 1/2 in the strategy pic) Sharpei and is named after Tai Lee Island off of China . My wife’s dog Peaches had a litter over the summer of 04 and came home with him “just to show me” what they looked like in case I wanted one. Well, with those wrinkles I could not resist and he became my first son – adopting him at a mere 4 weeks. Yes, I even had to feed him milk and wake up 3 times a night!

Sharpei’s origins are traced to China and they were bred as a companion dog for Chinese royalty. I am far from “royalty” but he really makes us feel that special all the time. Yes, he really posed for this photo and makes inquisitive faces all the time. I call him my business partner but don’t worry – he won’t eat the contracts!

Asia , the “plumper” of the two, is Tai’s half-sister, born 6 months later. They share the same mother but have different fathers…….quit the “momma jokes”…..she is just very friendly! While Tai is the model first child, always trying to please us, Asia is the tester. I have given up protecting our baseboards and we don’t dare leave our shoes un-attended! She is truly a sweetheart though and they both have tremendous love for each other.

Now, when you really look at the photo – Tai is winning the chess match. Yes he is extremely clever, but please don’t use that as a judge of my intelligence to get your deal done! It was for photo purposes only – I promise!
